Shu epizod davomida The Weeknd, Kenan Thompson va Chris Redd bilan birga „On the Couch“ sketchida qatnashdi hamda ''After Hours'' albomidan ikki qoʻshiqni – „[[Blinding Lights]]“ singlini va hali taqdim etilmagan „Scared to Live“ni (Oneohtrix Point Never bilan birga) ijro etdi<ref>{{Cite web |url=https://www.complex.com/music/2020/03/the-weeknd-snl-performance-after-hours |title=Watch The Weeknd Perform "Blinding Lights" and "Scared to Live" on 'SNL' |website=Complex |accessdate=}}</ref>. „Scared to Live“ sinti-pop janridagi ballada sifatida tavsiflangan boʻlib<ref>{{Cite web |date=March 8, 2020 |title=The Weeknd Performs New Ballad "Scared To Live" On SNL |url=https://hiddenjams.com/2020/03/08/the-weeknd-scared-to-live-snl/ |access-date= |website=Hidden Jams |language=en-US }}{{Oʻlikhavola|date=avgust 2025 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }}</ref>, Elton Johnning „Your Song“ qoʻshigʻidek anʼanaviy pop<ref>{{Cite web |last=Wyman |first=Bill |date=October 18, 2018 |title=Elton John Is Not the Man They Think He Is at Home |url=https://www.vulture.com/2018/10/elton-john-is-not-the-man-they-think-he-is-at-home.html |access-date= |website=Vulture |language=en-us}}</ref> va adult contemporary ohanglarga sodiqligini saqlab qoladi<ref>{{Citation |title=After Hours - The Weeknd {{!}} Songs, Reviews, Credits {{!}} AllMusic |url=https://www.allmusic.com/album/after-hours-mw0003358815 |access-date= |language=en}}</ref>. Qoʻshiq matni The Weekndning sobiq sevgilisi bilan munosabatlarining yakuniga oid kechinmalarni ifodalaydi – bu ajralishdan soʻng ular yana oʻz muhabbatlarini topishi mumkinmi degan savolni tugʻiladi. The Weeknd sobiq sevgilisiga oʻz yoʻlini topib, oʻtmishga qaramay yashashni maslahat beradi; u oʻz ayblari uchun uzr soʻraydi, biroq ular oʻrtasidagi tuygʻularni hanuz sogʻinayotganini ham yashirmaydi<ref>{{Cite web |date=March 8, 2020 |title=The Weeknd Performs New Ballad "Scared To Live" On SNL |url=https://hiddenjams.com/2020/03/08/the-weeknd-scared-to-live-snl/ |access-date= |website=Hidden Jams |language=en-US }}{{Oʻlikhavola|date=avgust 2025 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }}</ref><ref>{{Cite web |date=March 10, 2020 |title=The Weeknd debuts 'Scared to Live' on 'Saturday Night Live' [Watch] |url=https://dancingastronaut.com/2020/03/the-weeknd-debuts-scared-to-live-on-saturday-night-live-watch/ |access-date= |website=Dancing Astronaut |language=en-US}}</ref>.

== Tanqidiy qabul ==
Qoʻshiq tanqidchilardan tomonidan eʼtirofga sazovor boʻldi va albomdagi eng yorqin asarlardan biri sifatida baholandi. Balladaning minimalistik tuzilishi, samimiy matni hamda The Weekndning ovozi alohida maqtovga sazovor boʻldi<ref>{{Cite web |url=https://dailybruin.com/2020/03/20/album-review-the-weeknd-authentically-portrays-heartache-over-past-heartbreak-in-after-hours/ |title=Album review: The Weeknd authentically portrays heartache over past heartbreak in 'After Hours' |date=March 20, 2020 |website=Daily Bruin}}</ref>. Jurnalistlar qoʻshiq matnining toʻliqligi (oxiriga yetkazilgani)ni eʼtirof etishdi va uning ohangini Phil Collins ijro etgan balladalarni eslatuvchi qoʻshiq sifatida tilga olishdi<ref>{{Cite web |url=https://djbooth.net/features/2020-03-20-the-weeknd-after-hours-album-review-new-music |title=The Weeknd 'After Hours' Album Review |first=Yoh |last=Phillips |website=DJBooth |date=March 20, 2020}}</ref><ref>{{cite web |url=https://www.theguardian.com/music/2020/mar/20/the-weeknd-after-hours-album-review-abel-tesfaye |title=The Weeknd: After Hours review – agile blend of usual sex and self-hate |work=[[The Guardian]] |date=March 20, 2020 |last=Cragg |first=Michael}}</ref>. ''Vibe'' jurnalidan Jack Riedy esa trekni quyidagicha tasvirlab oʻtadi: „Tinglovchi goʻyoki disko shari nurlari ostida bitiruv kechasining soʻnggi raqsida raqs tushayotgan yosh qalblarni koʻrayotgandek boʻladi. ''Slant'' nashridan Seth Wilson qoʻshiq haqida shunday yozgan: "Bu qoʻshiq pop-ballada ulugʻvorligini – yurakni rom etuvchi, yodda qoladigan naqarot va oʻtmishdagi muhabbatga sokinlik bilan nazar tashlaydigan matnlarni namoyon etadi. Unda faqatgina vaqt oʻtishi bilan yetiladigan hayotiy donishmandlik bor. Qoʻshiq haddan tashqari hissiyotlarga berilib ketgandek tuyuladi, biroq u har xil syurprizlarga boy, xususan, koʻp tinglovchilar payqamay qoladigan Elton Johnning „Your Song“ qoʻshigʻiga qilingan murakkab, naqarotga singib ketgan ishora bor"<ref>{{cite web |url=https://www.slantmagazine.com/music/review-the-weeknd-after-hours-is-a-triumphant-depiction-of-heartbreak/amp/ |title=MUSICReview: The Weeknd's After Hours Is a Triumphant Depiction of Heartbreak |first=Seth |last=Wilson |website=Slant Magazine |date=March 28, 2020}}</ref>. ''The Ringer''dan Micah Peters bu asarni: „His-tuygʻularga boy boʻlib, unda The Weeknd ilgari juda ham qaygʻuli boʻlgan his-tuygʻular oʻrnini egallagan quvonch va dardni koʻrsatadi“, – deya tavsiflagan<ref>{{Cite web |url=https://www.theringer.com/2020/03/25/music/the-weeknd-after-hours-review |title=Abel Tesfaye's 'After Hours' is his most accomplished and coherent project to date—and something to project your basest desires onto |first=Micah |last=Peters |website=The Ringer |date=March 25, 2020}}</ref>. ''Vulture''dan Craig Jenkins esa shunday yozadi: „Trap barabanlari ustida jaranglaydigan sintezatorlar, zavqli burilishlar bilan boyitilgan.
